This collage began with a piece of discarded paper I was using to clean my tools. (I like to use old credit cards.) I picked up a few scraps lying on my table, a stamp that came in yesterdays mail and threw in the top from the wine we had last evening. Viola'! Sometimes the most humble and over looked ingredients turn out to be the very things to add just the right amount of spice to life! I seem to stumble upon metaphors everywhere. I like to use them as "sign posts" to navigate my days. Today's "sign post" reminds me to be aware of life's seemingly small and inconsequential moments. In anticipation of our Spring Break trip to San Diego, I can fritter my day away planning and thinking about tomorrow or I can choose to be present to this day, this moment. Tomorrow will arrive soon enough.
Great collage! Thanks for the reminder about using humble materials and working in the moment :-)

I learned the credit card trick a while back and love what it adds to a collage. Hadn't thought of a cork. Thanks for the tip!

Kathleen, another beautiful and honest post. I absolutely agree with what you wrote. Being here now, is what it is all about.
Let me know when you are going to be in San Diego! I think you had trouble with my email once before, and now I think I know why. I think that I typed two "n's" in angels instead of one. I corrected it here now, so try to email me when you get a second. I would hate for you to come out to CA without getting the chance to say hello and to give you a hug in person!
Love,
Deb

I found your site on Laura Lein Svencner's and I really love your work. And I see the info about Soul Collage. Our collage society did a mini workshop on it and I loved it! So glad to have found you!

Now you're talking my kind of art. It arranges itself. We should all be so lucky that this happens all the time!
